Rancho San Antonio Preserve has 24 miles of trails available for explorations. PG & E (Pacific Gas & Electric) Trail is one of the Bay Area’s most popular trails. It is about 8.8. miles challenging Trail with 1600 ft elevation gain, follows the path of electrical towers up to Black Mountain. Hikers are rewarded with great views of the bay area and western foothills. (Popularly known as PG & E Trail, the official name is Stephen E. Abbors Trail)
Out& Back trail with great views. Weekends are very crowded and finding a parking spot will be a challenge. Good steady steep up! Rancho San Antonio is one of the Bay Area’s most popular parks. Most weekends there’s a continuous stream of people on the main road to Deer Hollow Farm and to hiking, walking and running. So get there early to secure a parking space closer to the trails.
