There are tow options to take this trail.
Option #1: You can hike from Peek-a-boo Stage area through the deep sandy trail to reach the slot canyon. The total length will be about 9 miles out and back. We highly recommend not doing this. Even though not much elevation, you need to tackle the deep sand and the cold weather in the winter and the warm weather in the summer scenarios.
Option #2: We have two options under this one.
1. If you have a 4wheel drive and high clearance vehicle, you can drive upto the Slot Canyon entrance and do the hike. The deep sand has to be taken seriously and it not a joke. Even though it its a well travelled route, it is easy to get lost or stuck in the sand. Download the offline map and have a good GPS system.
2. Use the tour guide. It is safer but pricier. There are a few available in Kanab. We went with Dream Safari Tours.
Happy Trails!
