Mad Dog Cafe is located at the site of the Historic Woodfords Station, a gateway to the goldfields of California and an entrance to the Emigrant Trail leading to the Sacramento Valley. This iconic trading post was founded in the mid 1800s creating the first settlement in what is now Alpine County. Today, the Mad Dog still serves as a market place and cafe offering breakfast and lunch, as well as other general commodities.
Mad Dog Cafe and Market offers breakfast and lunch seven days a week. We provide a wide variety of delicious grilled and cold sandwiches, soups, and baked goods made fresh daily.
