Súgandisey Island Lighthouse is located on a steep basalt cliff offering stunning views of Breidafjord Bay, Stykkisholmur and its surroundings. A short hike up the stairs is a great place for a pleasant stroll, watching birds and the sunsets in the evenings. Since we visited in September, we didn’t see much of bird activities there.
This lighthouse was once located at Grótta in Seltjarnarnes town, which is part of the Great Reykjavík area, but was moved to Súgandisey.
